"Stärka" is the Swedish word for strengthening

I am an artist and body worker who was born and raised in a small village, Jularbo, in Sweden. My husband calls me a "hillbilly". I left the village, worked, studied and traveled the world. I was back packing in Asia and studied art in Paris. In 2001, my husband's work brought us to Seattle. We love it here - people's mindset feels like Europe.

ACHES and PAINS

I became a Massage Therapist based on personal experience. When I couldn't stay active the way I wanted because of pain and injuries I wanted to find out why. Cortisone shots and braces were clearly not the whole answer. Along my path to healing I picked up knowledge from many great body workers. I realized that I might be able to help others. I enrolled in the The Northwest Academy for the Healing Arts in Seattle to become a Massage Therapist with focus on medical massage and graduated in 2012.

Art as inpiration

Art is a way to find the "magical" lines, movement and directions that unite everything in nature and life. My focus is to find the beauty, the harmony and the balance expressed in human bodies and nature. To find the lines, points and movements that create a harmonious and beautiful whole. I have been drawing, painting and creating art for as long as I can remember.

QI GONG, MARTIAL ARTS and YOGA

I find inspiration in many different Asian Styles of bodywork. I have studied QiGong with the late Dr. Guang-Cheng Sun at Bastyr University

I have also learned from many different Martial Arts Instructors around Seattle, in both Chinese and Thai styles of Martial Arts, and I have done Yoga for a long time. I also find inspiration in Western bodywork, such as in the work by Thomas Myers, who was a student of Ida Rolf. He is making many interesting connections between myofascial lines. art and meridians
